Customers have asked me many times, “Do you have anything vanilla-scented?”

I didn’t really have what they were looking for, especially that sweet, creamy version of vanilla. And honestly, vanilla wasn’t always my go-to fragrance. I wasn’t a vanilla girl.

But those conversations got me thinking about what a MISAURA vanilla collection could look like. I wanted to explore the different sides of vanilla and give people room to find themselves in it. Including the people who, like me, usually said, “I’m not really into vanilla.”

That became The Vanilla Edit.

Finding Your Vanilla

Each scent started with vanilla at its center. Through research, formulation help, and exploring different types of vanilla from around the world, I thought about which notes could take each fragrance in its own direction.

I wanted each one to have a personality.

Nilla is the sweet side. She’s soft, creamy, and warm. With tonka bean, caramel, vanilla, and coconut, she’s for the person who enjoys the sweet things in life.

Salted Vanilla is the beach girl. She would walk in the sand regardless of the temperature or season. Sea salt, vanilla, orchid, and soft woods give her that softer, skin-like character.

Vanilla Moon wants a little spice. Vanilla bean, spiced coconut, and smoky patchouli take her somewhere warmer and earthier. She’s the one I picture wanting a little caliente with her vanilla.

Vanilla Nocturne is the deepest, darkest side. She’s that person at the bar who smells amazing and makes you curious about what they’re wearing. With cacao blanc, cashmere vanilla, incense, and amber among her notes, Nocturne has a depth that feels unisex to me. I heard that same feedback from people trying it at the farmers market.

The Pairing That Made Me a Vanilla Girl

For me, it’s Salted Vanilla and Vanilla Moon.

They do two different things on their own, but together, the combination is amazing. I describe it as a softer spice.

 I start with Salted Vanilla Body Oil and finish with Vanilla Moon Fragrance Mist. That softness underneath the spice is what I love. Creating these scents—and discovering what happens when I wear them together—is what made me a vanilla girl.

That freedom to mix and match was part of the collection from the beginning.

Why the Products Work Together

When I layer fragrance, my base is usually my cream. Then I may follow with an oil and finish with a fragrance spray or parfum.

That’s why I chose Nilla for the Cream Body Butter. Her sweet, creamy character gives you a starting point you can build on with any of the other scents.

I chose Nilla and Salted Vanilla for the body oils because I wanted those softer scents to leave room to play with the fragrance mists.

Vanilla Nocturne became the Eau de Parfum because it was the deepest and strongest scent in the collection. Whichever base you choose, Nocturne brings that deeper side of vanilla to the combination.

You can wear a single scent or experiment across the products. You don’t need every step to get started.

“You Nailed Vanilla.”

At the farmers market preview, several people told me they weren’t vanilla people.

Then they smelled the collection.

A lot of them found at least one scent they enjoyed, and some purchased. One customer said, “You nailed vanilla,” and chose the discovery set and Nilla cream.

I was so excited. There was a lot of work and thought behind this edit, and hearing that made it feel worth it.

I also met people who weren’t convinced the scents would work layered together. Once I demonstrated a pairing and let them smell the combination, they understood.

That’s what I want to help people experience: finding a vanilla they enjoy, then discovering how they can make it their own.
